get a dog. there the best first line of defense for protecting your home. they can hear and smell danger long before a human can.

Bully breeds (pitbulls, american bulldogs, dogo argentino) are the best breeds for not only protection, but as a companion. with proper training, their going to be your best friend for life, always ready and willing to play or just watch tv, yet will never, ever back down if the time should ever come to protect its family.

2 large wel trained dogs, and i beg anyone to break in. they wont make it much passed the door.

Unfortunately because my son is a little rough with dogs cant get a pit atm , so far justa chow , hes a good dog, good early alert system.

1) Get an alarm system. It doesn't have to be a high end alarm system, possibly just a motion sensor by a door with a loud alarm. If a screamer goes off, most intruders will leave. If you can't do this, then at least go get a security system sign (you've seen the APX, brinks, etc signs everywhere). you'd be surprised what a sign and some stickers can do. MOST thieves want and easy pay day, so they will look for greener pastures.

2) What state do you live in? This will determine what attitude your state law enforcement will have in regards to gun control. If you don't plan on carrying, you can skip the permit. You have no need to conceal or carry your weapon, just leave it in your home. I would skip the idea of a pistol (the only real need for a CCL) in favor of a pump shotgun. Easy to load, easy to aim, doesn't go through walls the same as pistols/rifles, and the sound of a shell getting rammed home would be terrifying for an intruder in a dark house, I would imagine.

If something gives you a weird feeling trust your gut instinct. Call the cops and have a plan for home invasion ready. It does happen, and most people are never prepared, sadly..

sry to hear this man. just pick ur self up a nice pump shotgun(unless u want to have fun with it as well, in which case i say get Saiga 12!) loaded with birdshot. still hurt and have the capabilitys to kill but stops quick. now if u dont care about really protecting life, buckshot. no slugs! that will just go right through walls and cause issues.

Get a pump for home defense not the Semi-Auto Saiga. Fun as it may be your purpose for owning that firearm is safety. The safest outcome is for the intruder to flee for his life and there are very few people who don't know that sound.
