IM more worried for my family , i grew up in the ghetto are of los angeles so im not new to people actual breaking into my home when i was younger , just the safety of my family is what matters to me now .my own personal safety is 2nd compared to my family.

I live by myself in my own apartment, wasn't trying to offend you. Was just trying to see it in my perspective with only a dog living with me. It would be a totally different situation with family members, I'm thinking of it now and honestly don't know what I would do.

good luck... we had a couple of guys break into my great aunts house they completely ruined the place. after we cleaned up the HUGE mess they created we heard on the news that a house was burned down close to were my great aunts house was. we drove out to see what was on fire and it was my great aunts house. it was terrible!! luckily she wasn't there at the time. but i think i know who did it, it was the neighbor!! he came over to us the day before the fire and said "ive always wanted this house, but its never been for sale. but now that theres this huge mess ALL YOU GUYS CAN DO IS BURN IT DOWN." so that makes me think that he did it. he looked very.. suspicious when he just walked into the yard and started talking about burning it down.

anywhoo. i hope that you stay safe and that this guy dosnt even come back.

This has never happened to me, nobody has ever broken in at out house.
But there was this guy on the news, here in Reykjavik, just minding his buisness in the morning (9-10), and the doorbell rings, he opens the door and he was hit (not shot) in the head with a shotgun, he falls down, manages to kick the door closed. Backs off and the guy shot 2 times through the door with the shotgun, didnt hit the guy and he turned out to be ok.

It's easy to lose your head in intense situations... Just stay safe.

sorry to hear this man, i would say you (and perhaps your neighbors) were lucky to have the dog barking, draws alot of attn to the bad guy.

as for arming yourself, i say do it asap. between the dog next to the bed and the AR under the bed im ready to protect my family by any means necesary.
