ever mix bichir with catfish?

just dont add a bichir smaller than its mouth
i put a RTC with my del and retropinnis and its fineim not gona say anything about the rtc ull find out what i mean very soon lol i like the pictus idea i was considering geting a school of them.... then i realized my 14 inch endlicheri would raaaaaape them

I'm guessing you mean width wise and not length wise...
Ditto. ^^^ Raphaels work well. Some plecos also work well but be careful as there seems to be some exceptions to this one, more so than you think. I've successfully tried Synodontis eupterus and Synodontis ocellifer with bichirs.
I would suggest a larger Synodontis cat to go with a Poly, I had a S. Angelicus which was beautiful, if you can afford and get your hands on, I would say get one of these. Aslo large horseface loaches might work also....I personally find all catfish boring because they just hide, poop, and vacuum up all my bichirs food, so I dont keep any cats besides corys. Corys are the only catfish that are fun to watch imo 
yea ive been set on getting a s. angelicus. how much do they run for? i cant imagine them costing an arm or a leg
When I got mine almost 12 years ago he was $50 on sale for $25.
I brought them in through my store several years back and was selling them for $30 if I remember correctly.
And the one I bought is still in my aquarium and going strong.

With me, synos did the job in sucking the the slime of my bichirs. Like benjamin says, go with the Doradidae species. raphael do really nice, or you can do megaladoras, you can also do niger cat, but be ready to feed it A LOT! But raph and mega would be the best choices.
