Every good story comes to an end... the death of my monster GATF

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
Yeah my taxidermist actually was upset that it wasn’t his best work he said.. lol!!! And it only costed me 150 dollars for a 24” fish, I think it’s more economical for the tedious attention and care it takes to do the job. Overall, I’m quite content with it. Definitely a piece worthy to reminisce and y’all about with guests visiting.
it's a good way to reminisce.

Looks pretty neat I have a huge armatus in freezer I considered doing as well.
One thing I learned in all this is throw away my power head... not worth the risk of malfunction!

So what do you use instead of power heads

So what do you use instead of power heads

My main pump that runs the wet/ dry
And have a big canister that runs uv.
Power head I was running was a “cheapy” and I was running it for the Goliath which was just for extra flow. I don’t think it was necessary. He seems happy without

Yeah the extra flow helps when the fish is new, once settled the pump is just not a necessity anymore

Just as we were discussing malfunctions... just lost my Manueli piranha right now because powerstrip failed.. no heater/oxygen/filtration = death... this is what happens when you have too many tanks and don’t check up on them everyday....

Such a shame, manuelli are one of my favorite piranhas
So damn true, when you have too many tanks and fish , one weekend you go out and I just dread to visit the fish room

Very nice bro. I am sorry again for your loss. I know it was awhile ago but it sucks. I never taxed my Armatus but had 2 in the freezer for a long time. Looms good though and definitely a conversation piece!

Oh my goodness. Sorry for the loss of two stunning fish. I know power outages are brutal on fish. I find that characins have a hard time with it and tend to go faster than expected.
Most are nervous fish and extremely skittish.
