Cheers everyone, I appreciate all the comments. Indeed it’s unfortunate to lose these beautiful monsters. I’m contemplating if I should taxidermy my brasi dorado as well but it’s only around 40cm ish which is considerably smaller than my gatf.
My manueli was about 6.5”-7” guesstimating as feral cats in my backyard made quick work of it. And yes, there are some large manuelis here in china. I’ve seen a 14-15” specimen that was a stunner.
In terms of fish being sensitive, characins are definitely not good at holding up in bad conditions. My alligator gars seem to be able to survive through virtually anything and everything though... lol

They supposedly are able to out grow rhoms in nature probably only second to piraya in size.
