Great to hear Wurm. I see that many of you on here are seeing the other side as being better. Personally when I worked for petco at $9.50/hr it was tight, but it was still enough. The customers were much less knowledgable, and more eager to shop and move on, rather than talk to someone that knew something. Then there are those that come into the chain store thinking they know all, and try to show it off (I have been on both ends of that one). Then there is the shop in Olympia that I work at on and off for $12/hr. Pay is better, and people that come in there are willing to ask questions. Downside to that, is the traffic isn't as high, and so the hours are less. Although I got paid more at the LFS per hour, I got less per paycheck. Working at these shops will only suck the fun out of the hobby if you allow it to. After leaving work at numerous fish stores and petshops, I have only become more passionate about the hobby.
