for a few reasons, but the main ones being because im not an idiot, and i dont feed my fish live foods
are crickets a big risk? i feed my killifish crickets all the time :WHOA:

all live food is a risk. you have less of a chance of disease and parasites with crickets and different kinds of worms, but you still risk the chance of your fish only accepting live foods. with all the advancements in dry foods, there is absolutely no reason to use live foods.
most live foods provide little to no nutritional value, and are likely to transfer disease or parasites. so whats the point?

oh i always felt like it was good stimulation and that it was a good treat and that they enjoyed it, it never crossed my mind that it could be a risk

stimulation for what?
any food added to their tank acts as "stimulation"

feeder fish are by far the worst overall. theyre the most common to transfer disease and parasites. and they provide no nutritional value. most feeders are just skin and bones.
some people will gutload their feeders (feeding the feeder fish till theyre full, then feeding them to your fish). this can help to provide more nutrition, but whats the point of taking the extra step? why not just feed the fish food thats good for them?

also, when you get fish trained on pellets (and other supplimented foods), and then feed live foods "as a treat", there is a high chance of some fish not going back to the dry food.

like i said. there is really no reason to use live feeders, so i dont, and i dont suggest people do it. if youre going to do it, thats youre business, but there are much better choices out there.
