Is steve-89 (Moderator) from Australia?

Oh and just the other day, this random LFS had a tank full of male guppies with your standard colouration, nothing fab for $5.50 each!!! Usually they are $3.50.

Guppy prices down here have gone up too, it's downright annoying since I was buying batches of them keeping them for a few months so the week/overly inbreed ones could die off, so i could breed the hardy ones for feederfish. Am using platies now, ain't paying $5 each when I want 20-30 female guppies, just too feed to another fish. I use them to train some of the odd pickier fish onto dead food, works quite well.

Well not really. Why did you want it polished anyway?

I think polishing is around $50 a lineal metre.

And yes im from Perth..

The guy at the glass store said it would need to be polished, does it have to be. I haven't really looked into this much yet.

sheesh!! that's a lil harsh!! i wouldnt pay $1 for a guppy...

A single buck for a guppy is dead cheap. But I hate guppies, so its wasting my money.

As anyone also got cheap Clown Loaches? I always have 1.5" specimens sell for an average of $10.

I got 6 1.5" clown loaches for $20, they were a bit sickly and thin but I fattened them up nicely. I only have 3 (maybe 4) left thanks to my little Jag, I didn't think that he (only 2") would kill clown loaches only .5" smaller then him.

yeh i saw a 20 cm clown fer 30. u are idiing the price is outrageous i saw a 1ft rtc fer 120. silvers do cost a heap. theres native fish specialist store at kenmore hills near the gap that has red jars and leichs etc fer rougly 100-120. and the red jars 180. aquariums rus can sell 10 ft tanks fer cheap. also i can get cichlas fer 195 at atlas aquariums. if u were interested cichla i could ship them down for u but dont ask the secies name as all i can do is ask them.

Nah you dont need polished edges. You just ask them to sand of the sharp edges which should be no extra charge.

amehel0: I love cichla, but I can pretty mcuh order in what I need at my favourite LFS. But 'rare' species such as Festae (Never seen), Flowerhorns (Never seen) and EBJD's (Never seen) would presumeably be hard to import? To what extent can you order fish in? Like anything legal in Australia?

Dude that stuff isn't rare.

You can get FH all the time...EBJD were around not so long ago...and festae have been around before as well.

What LFS are you shopping at?
