^^ it can work, I have a 12 inch ornate birchir and two 9 inch snakeheads in with mine. It's just a case of getting BIG examples to go in, as all three lost chunks of tail to test bites. Luckily that have all been big enough to recover and are now happy tankmates.

Lots of interesting info!
I find it kinda exciting to see you've been able to house a font with her. That's one of the few African fish I'd like to have someday.
Not sure I'll ever get a fahaka, or if I do I'm not sure I'd raise it in a community tank. I tend to get attached to fish I buy as a pet.

I really like how you scapped the tank too.

Thanks, this has been a bit of a project for me as my dream tank. The front is actually the king of the tank... well until the oscars paired up now they have got a lot braver. Yeah the fahaka socialisation phase can be rough and not for everyone... I just got lucky I guess.

You did get lucky.

I have kinda an odd tank situation going on with a gsp.
I made a mistake of buying it without researching first. I was still very new to tropicals at the time. I thought it was a fully freshwater puffer.
It's been living in a community setting for about 9+months. He's an awesome little guy and has only had issues with plecos. It killed one, but when I bought two at the same time that spread the aggression out enough that both managed to thrive even with a nip here and there.

Fahakas seem so lovable. If I can ever get an appropriate size tank I'd love one. Yours is adorable:)

Yeah puffers don't like plecos they sit still to long so get a test bite...which can be fatal. I think the GSP is a high end brackish fish long term? Would be good to see some pictures.. can never see enough puffers!

Okay bit of a tank update... snakeheads are all gone and I have slimmed the stocking down in anticipation of adding a few large cichlids that I have growing out. As requested pictures are below... the fahaka is a little lethargic tonight so I have a couple of older ones as well.

Love it!!! Seriously so cool, I want to add a frontosa somewhere in my collection. Beautiful fish. The fahaka is just a dream - what's it's name?

Here's my humble abode for my Fahaka - Nacho. He lives with a bunch of Mbunas + Haps, a Shovelnose Cat hybrid, plus some others.

Wow awesome looking tank! Looks almost coral!?
The fahaka is called Stone Cold... as when I got her I expected a single fish species tank with a psychotic fish but ended with a fluffy bunny rabbit in a comm tank!
