I know Filbert would love a much larger tank!

I have mine in a 125 and he is about 9 inches now. He grew fast and I plan on upgrading to a 200 soon but he is perfectly happy. Awesome fish. I feed him bloodworms, crayfish, and those little crabs that are under the rocks at the beach and that seems to do the trick.

Question my puffer seems to be missing part of it's front lip, does it look normal? Underweight?

Not sure what to make of his lip? But as far as weight, definitely skinny and needs some fattening up...

Just keep an eye out for possible signs of IPs...

Yeah, been watching for it to poop, haven't seen yet. Been feeding deshelled snails the last three nights, has eaten them all about marble sized piece each night.

Going to try market shrimp tonight. Should I be feeding this much, or more? Tank has guppies(bread and raised by me) in it but doesn't look like any have been taken.

^ They aren't piscivores by nature, so they don't normally eat fish... they may kill them, but won't eat them in my experience...

As for the feeding, when mine was that small i fed her everyday until her belly was full as i know they grow quick until about 12" or so... once she reached about i think 8" maybe 9" then i cut back the feeding to about every 2 / 3 days... and now at about 13" i've cut her feeding down to about twice a week some times more if she seems hungry or didn't eat much the last meal...

Why de-shelled snails? They need the crunch of the shell to keep his teeth trimmed back.

He looks skinny, I suggest you get jungle fizzy tabs from walmart and treat with a quarter of the tab. Soak for over 30 mins and treat for over a week
