A lot of my rays aren't new to the hobby, but rather obtained from other hobbyists from this site. Provide good homes for them and the people that have them tend to find you when the time comes to rehome them. Well over half of my rays were passed down to me by other hobbyists. . I MUCH prefer this then having to buy wild caught. Wild caught Marbles are NOT fun at all when you have established rays, they don't mix well and mortality rate is sickening. In fact I think I only have 5 surviving WC rays. Probobly lost more then have lived.
The Irwinis are supposed to be a pair. Came from the Omalley collection. Amazing how much food they steal right out from under the rays.
I guess you are
I agree that if people see you can provide a very good home for them then they will actually come looking for you. Thats whats great about people on here, the vast majority of people would place the value of a good home far beyond that of financial gain.
I have never been unlucky enough to have a wild caught MM but im sure they are very difficult. My flower ray wasnt easy to get settled after its move and it is what you would class as a LTC.
I didnt realise the Megalodoras were two different ones!!! A pair at that size is just about my ultimate! They are far and away my favourite catfish (tigrinus seccond) they just look incredible.
That really is a special collection

When I buy nice Marbles from hobbyists I tend to be so humbled by thier decision to pick me to rehome thier ray with that I offer to pay whatever they want for the ray. I don't disrespect by lowballing or knitpicking. Afterall I am the one that is gaining from the transaction. This way a happy relationship and mutual respect is maintained long after the sale. This isn't a big deal for some hobbyists but it is to me. This kinda sucks for me cause I loose my arse if I do ever decide to sell a ray.
Nice Marbles tend to be worth more to me then they are to others.
