After 3+ years of hunting you're bound to come across a few lookers. ;)

A lot of my rays aren't new to the hobby, but rather obtained from other hobbyists from this site. Provide good homes for them and the people that have them tend to find you when the time comes to rehome them. Well over half of my rays were passed down to me by other hobbyists. . I MUCH prefer this then having to buy wild caught. Wild caught Marbles are NOT fun at all when you have established rays, they don't mix well and mortality rate is sickening. In fact I think I only have 5 surviving WC rays. Probobly lost more then have lived.

The Irwinis are supposed to be a pair. Came from the Omalley collection. Amazing how much food they steal right out from under the rays.

I guess you are:D
I agree that if people see you can provide a very good home for them then they will actually come looking for you. Thats whats great about people on here, the vast majority of people would place the value of a good home far beyond that of financial gain.
I have never been unlucky enough to have a wild caught MM but im sure they are very difficult. My flower ray wasnt easy to get settled after its move and it is what you would class as a LTC.
I didnt realise the Megalodoras were two different ones!!! A pair at that size is just about my ultimate! They are far and away my favourite catfish (tigrinus seccond) they just look incredible.
That really is a special collection:popcorn:

I've found it also helps to throw the $ amount out the window as the buyer.... When I buy nice Marbles from hobbyists I tend to be so humbled by thier decision to pick me to rehome thier ray with that I offer to pay whatever they want for the ray. I don't disrespect by lowballing or knitpicking. Afterall I am the one that is gaining from the transaction. This way a happy relationship and mutual respect is maintained long after the sale. This isn't a big deal for some hobbyists but it is to me. This kinda sucks for me cause I loose my arse if I do ever decide to sell a ray. Nice Marbles tend to be worth more to me then they are to others.

Thank you for the compliments Tom.

Don't have any recent pics of "Zero" but here's one from right after I moved him away from the other Marbles prior to Prazi treatments. He's picking up weight but not as fast as I'd like him to be. Hopefully all will be well after his treatments are done.

Thanks LJ!

Few more pics..... Forgot the Jag lol. I think these pics are a lot older then I'm giving them credit for as the Jag isn't too far off from being the biggest ray in the pond now, and the divider hasn't been in there for quite some time.....:nilly:

Theres another pic to show the color contrast of the 2 Irwini. 1 of them is much lighter then the other.

Amazing. That rhaph is beasty! He still in there?

Of course I will have to say that the Jag is the nicest of the bunch!!! Those cats are beasts. I am suprised they live happily with the rays, you would think their spines would scratch the heck out of the rays. You do have a sweet collection.

I really wish he was. Passed away 3 weeks ago. Not sure on the cause. Just know he was swimming unusual one night and when I reached for him it just let me pet him. Knew right then he'd be checking out. Was gone 18 hours later. Made it to 14-15 inches. Got him back in 03 I believe. Kinda sucks I've lost 4 of my oldest fish in the last month. I had 3 Monos in my salt tank that pre date the Rhaph and the Dragon Moray took them all out over a week. Right after the Rhaph passed. Sucks to loose any fish after that many years!!!

Thank you Mike! Appreciate the compliment!

Although
I have to disagree with you on the Jag. Jags are really common compared to big Marbles that STAY nice like the light Marble from Jim. I've never seen a Marble look even close to as nice as that one given its size. I've had enough Marbles to know that 95% of them go down hill in the looks department severely after 12 to 14 inches. To have one look that good that big is uber rare. I have a pond full of examples of this lol.

I don't think the spines of the Irwinis ever actually contact the rays. Think of a door wedge and a plate. The side of the wedge wouldn't really contact the plate, if you follow me... They do go under the rays all the time. Perfect tankmates IMO. The cats do a phenominal job of cleaning up.

u deff have the best marble collection! love the big spots on the jag too
