Even though I don't use this area, every once in awhile I'll browse it. I'm surprised how many I see with zero posts. It seems that's the only reason why they are here. Are going to stop.
Starting January 1 2019, enforcement of the rules, as we on the Staff have been harangued about, will begin in earnest. If you're suspected of selling commercially and you get caught without being a Registered Vendor, you'll get a warning. Get caught again, and the Marketplace will magically disappear for you. If you get caught up in the sweeps as a non-registered vendor, the onus of proof that you're not will fall on you. If you can't prove beyond a doubt that you're not selling commercially, then you will be considered a commercial seller and will be expected to become a Registered Vendor.
While on the subject of the Marketplace, is it possible for the Mods to revise the Marketplace into regions like it was before? It's less time consuming to just click on "North East" and search the items listed there. Even though the location is supposed to be in the title heading, there many places that share the same name. I see "Norwalk" or "Orange" don't know if it's Cali or Connecticut. There are multiple places that share the same name so bringing back "regions" will make it easier than reading an entire thread to only find out it's 3000 miles away.
But what if someone is selling something (aquarium equipment for example) that can be shipped but it is only advertised in one region? A interested buyer could miss out.
Perhaps in the for sale posting an additional category could be added to include geographic region or state?
Agreed. That was a change that I didn't see a point in making. While on the subject of the Marketplace, is it possible for the Mods to revise the Marketplace into regions like it was before?
