Egg Eater Snakes are rarely in the pet hobby...and when they are, they aren't cheap...

Rare? Hard to get? hooray, charge him that much more for a finder's fee. Cheap and easy is for pimps to sell - if bunny-hugger wants a snake that eats eggs, sell him one - or two - at a tidy profit, then laugh him out the door.

There's a pair for sale right now $295 for the pair, shipped. Egg Eaters bloody bargain, if you ask me.

I fancy Loxocemus bicolor - wanna tell me about rarely seen in the pet trade?

lol If the guy didn't know what he was looking for, I doubt he'd be willing to shell out a hefty price tag for a Snake. And also we don't know if the lfs veing discussed will custom order anything.

"How many of those ones can I keep in a 10 gallon?"

The customer was pointing at juvenile Midas (an inch at most).
Who hasn't heard that :grinno:

Once I was at a local Perland when i saw a woman looking at Gibbiceps Plecos...I gave the usual Pleco speech, and asked what the tank size was. She said it was a 5g. I directed her to the Ottocinclus. She had one bagged up and bought it. After she bought the fish, it hit me that I should've asked her about her stock... 10... 10! Goldfish! :wall:

When we first had a salt water tank my mother had a blue damsel in it for a couple of months by himself. He had this large piece of dead coral like to hand out in. My mom became convinced that he was stuck in there. So she reached in pulled the coral out of the water and shook him out of there.

Later she added a second damsel to the tank. The first damsel did not take kindly to this and terrorized the new addition. So the next day my mom called the fish store and complained that the new damsel they had sold her had no fins. She kept saying "how could you sell me a fish with no fins?" Finally the clerk got mad and shouted back "your fish had fins when it left here!"

today I was at local pet supplies plus w/ parents and was looking at tanks to show my parents the size. My parents dislike the thought of such a big tank and as I'm trying to persuade them a Saleswoman walks up and starts talking to us, seems to know her stuff, showing us tanks and such. finally my dad tells her tell i was gonna build my dream 125 gallon around 2 electric blue jack dempsey's... i proceed to get told that in a 30 gallon tank the will grow to half their regular size because they grow to tank size. being 13 as soon as the lady leaves i sidle over to my dad and tell him were leaving(I don't think I'll get tank as my parents think that it's "too big for my room".)

I've had to tell people so many times at work that fish won't only grow to the tank size. It gets so frustrating. But luckily we have a stunted oscar and a very badly deformed silver aro to show people just what will happen. The silver has a huge kink in him and he's only worth 1/5 - 1/6 what he would be if he were straight. Helps sell the point of don't think the fish will fit the tank. If that were true then fish in the wild would only grow to the size of puddle you throw them into.
