this is something i just noticed the other day while getting some supplies from petsmart. i was looking at the oscars, and did you know that the tiger oscars get 14" while red oscars only reach 10?

Here's a gem one of my coworkers had the pleasure of hearing the other day:

Customer: "My kids keep catching these little tree frogs and they keep on dying. I don't know what we're doing wrong."
Co-worker: "Ok, well, what are you feeding them?"
Customer: "Nothing."

Food might help, buddy! LOL

well i have a story
Customer: can i put African cichild with my Oscar his Buddie died?
me: no they need to be with with there own kind.
Customer: oh ok i am looking for another Buddie for him i guess i will get another Oscar.

ok i got one there was this really really gray haired old dude and his wife well he looked nice and i noticed he was in line with a brand new 29 gall tank and stand and lights.so i ask him what he has.he asks his wife.she says they have iridesent, bala, and bull sharks.i told them that the iridescents get pretty huge...he just nodded his head and said i know he was kinda funny his eyes just popped out when he said that.i figured that the bull sharks were just columbian sharks so i told him they need marine but than his chick wife said they add aquarium salt. i told them you need marine salt. i don't know if they were putting those fish into the 29 or were just going to stock it with something else

 lol

The Garter Snake I bought today was eating Goldfish and crickets. Pretty much the 2 worst things to be feeding a Garter.

I saw this too! :S Kijiji people lol.

I love how they're asking for free fish, no doubt because I bet they've had a couple they bought at an LFS die on them already so they figured they'll just get a bigger one thinking size is the issue and try not to spend money on it this time.

So, I have my first customer story for you tonight...and it's actually a good one. I had a customer come in looking for some fish for his new tank. Although I couldn't convince him to do a fishless cycle, he did purchase some cycle-in-a-bottle. Anyway, after establishing that he had a 20 gallon and having him pick out only 4 guppies (one male and three females) and three plants he told he me he needed a pleco.

I tried steering him to a smaller variety (rubber lipped), and when that didn't work, tried explaining how they did eat some algae, but mainly pooped all over the tank. He was insistent though and I was beginning to think I was either going to have to refuse to sell him one, or consign a pleco to a short life sentence. Then he made my day. He told me that once it outgrew his 20 gallon tank, he'd release it into his HEATED 450 GALLON POND that he had in his greenhouse.
