mmmm, with the aro, i'd believe it's possible as i've seen huge fish in tiny tanks, there not healthy it's not good for them, but sadly enough it has been done, and it happens all to regularly.

I'm really afraid...some guy came in today, has an algae problem, what animal can he get to deal with it. He's not sure of the gallons, but it's 5foot long. Okay..show him some of the plecos, he decides on a few bristlenose, great. Bagging them up, he says So...these guys will clean the glass and the corals right? ....What? He repeats himself...I ask if he has saltwater or freshwater, he says saltwater. :screwy: I tell him these fish are freshwater...he goes I thought all the fish here were saltwater? Um..no...buddy, you have a lot to learn.

He just bought the tank I guess, and through talking to him he decided to check out some aquarium maintenance companies to get him started, thank god.

yesterday i went in to work and found out that my favorite fish in the store a 9" blackbelt cichlid named bruce got sold to a guy with a 30 gallon tank with 2 JD's the employee that sold him told me that he told the guy that the tank was too small but the guy still wanted it so he sold it to him anyway because he didn't feel like fighting over a $20 fish :irked:

then we had a lady come in and buy 50 comets for her turtle, as i was netting them she asked me if there was any way to keep the tank was smelling, i asked her if she had a filter, she did, i asked her how often she cleaned the tank, she said about every other day, i asked her how big the tank was, she said 60 gallons, i was stumped so i asked her how big the turtle was and she she said, "oh about this big" while spacing her hands about 13"-15" apart :headshake. she was actually surprised when i told her the tank was too small

I don't even think anyone on this forum has a 36 inch aro, and these people take great care of their fish. How could some guy raise and aro to 36 inches, in a 30 gallon hex with a bent spine? Can't happen. Aro would of been dead long ago.

Love it when I ask a customer what size their tank is and they say, "O it's huge, like this big" with arms out stretched about 3 feet. Then they ask about our trimac or wonder how many african cichlids they can put in their 30 gallon.

mmm, was talking to some guy in a pet store today while purchasing my new pleco :)
said his tank was pretty big, i asked how big he spaced his hand about 2 foot apart, and said about 40L i was just like... oh god, and then he asked me how big the tank for my pleco is... well it's a 200L (50 gallon) grow out, he was just like...
the angels and clown loach's the guy bought i pitty...

Up Next: The guy who kept his Oscar in a bath tub, fed it chicken, and wanted a refund when it dies after it's first shower.
I so want to believe that is just a joke...:WHOA:

But I worked in just such a store as you describe and I know it's not.
