maybe talk to the kids mom and tell her as politely as possible to keep an eye on her son, tell her that you are concerned for the child's safety. if that doesn't work would it be at all possible to move the eel to a tank out of the kids reach?_Jessica_;4484064; said:Umm, about a half hour from Worcester..somewhat rural area. There's not much around for fish stores..we get them all.
This kid, him and his mom come in, and his mom just turns him lose in the toy and pet area to keep him occupied while she shops. I've heard he has grabbed fish out of tanks and ran around the store with them. I talked to the managers after this happened today...we're going to put signs like "Do not open tanks" and please keep children supervised, so we can actually enforce them and ask them to leave. It's touchy because of the handicapped thing...but the mother does not care what the kid does. After I put the eel back, he started pounding with his fists on the tank..he's going to get hurt if she dosen't keep him supervised. A few weeks back, the eel jumped out, my coworker got bit putting it back in-he should have gone for stitches, it was a bad bite. If the kid had gotten bit, no doubt they would sue us?
