over the years i have become really close with the "aquatics manager" at my lfs (he GAVE me my ornate bichir). when "finding nemo" had just come out i asked him:
me: so have u seen it yet
him: well, i really really wanted to see it b4 it came out, but now every little kid that comes in here says "mommy look its a nemo"
me :omg that sux (or something to that effect)
Him: check out this sign (he pointed to a sign that said "no returns for clownfish (nemo). these are saltwater fish that require 30 gallon tanks")

just as i was leaving i heard this little kid YELL "mommy look its a nemo" from across the store

p.s. this guy is really cool and knowledgable he knows all the fish in my tanks and always asks up on them.

i call petsmart one day about cycling a 75G tank. it is cloudy and was asking about if they can test my water. they said yes and added the dumbest remark ever! is it an algae problem? i said, "Are you serious?!" and hung up. never calling petsmart/petco ever again!

firstly i keep brackisk and read up alot before starting a brackish tank........

i baught some silver dats yest and was told they ONLY live in brackish water and i couldent realy be to bothered to argue so i asked what there salinity was and got the reply "1.5 i think let me just check" and he got the hydrometer out and sure enough they were kept at 1.5, when i asked what SG i was told "i dont no about sg but the reading is 1.5 salt!"

by this point i was just triying to leave asap lol

when he asked what tank they were goin in i said a 75 to which i got "75 liters thats quite a big tank i've got a 100 at home:screwy:" he then went on to tell me that they would kill everything else in the tank (columbian shark cat, monos) as they are one of the most aggressive fish you can buy.

when i got home i used my refractometer to test the water and they were in fresh:ROFL: so they are now in with my other dats in fresh and havent yet killed everything they see:grinno:

oh and when i asked about some panda corys labeled as somthing stupid(dwarf half albino something) he told me they have to keep them away from the shrimp as corys kill any shrimp they see(is this true or another tall tale?)

i wont be goin back there again

When I was working at a LFS I had a customer who was a saltwater know it all....hahaha. He had a very large aquarium with a pufferfish and some others, I just remember the pufferfish for some odd reason...hint...hint. Anyways he took about six months he said to get his tank prepped for fish and wanted to buy a sea cucumber and bought one from another store not mine. He added the sea cucumber, and when he woke up in the morning he noticed the tank was all cloudy and all of his precious fish were dead. Turns out the pufferfish picked on the sea cucumber so much in the middle of the night the sea cucumber decided to release his insides and poisined all of his fish overnight.
