Had some chick the other day asking me about compatibility between bala sharks, pictus cats, red tail sharks, oscars, etc. After we finish chatting, she says okay I will be right back to get the fish...and when she comes back, she has a 5g tank in her hands. No hood, no filter, nothing else. I kind of eye her and sputter, is that for the fish we were just talking about? She says yes! Ask if she even has a filter or anything, nope. I go through my little speech of it being too small, you must have a filter, heater, go through the cycling process. She starts arguing with me and then cussing me out about she's always kept fish and they were fine...so I say "Aaaand why don't you still have those fish?". Boy if looks could kill... nonetheless I did tell her that I wouldn't do a guarantee on any fish she bought, and she stormed out in a huff. Idiots.

Here's some really stupid things EMPLOYEES have told me..
1. Said another senegal bichir was to many for my tank, then suggested I get an ornate..
2. Same guy as above:
Me: Hey, do you guys ever sell western hognose snakes?
Him: No, we don't sell rare snakes.
Me: Well can you special order a rarer thing for me, like a western hognose?
Him: Hognose aren't rare!
Me: But you just said you don't order "rare" snakes.
and it went on..
3. (This was some lady at petsmart) I was getting a betta for a 5g waaaay back like in maybe '08, and I said I had a 5 gallon. The guy behind me said that oscars were really cool but I would need a bigger tank. Then the employee said that oscars need a 20 gallon tank minimium. Both me and the guy behind me broke out laughing and then explained to her how that's wrong.
Here's what I heard a fellow customer who looked to be about my age say to his mom:
"Mom, look at these! **points to ID sharks** I heard that they are shark and catfish HYBRIDS! I don't think we should get one though, even though they are small I know sharks bite really hard."

a guy game into Petco today and said about every 2 weeks his water would turn green, i asked him does he have a timer and he said "i judt keep it on" also the same tank he has had a jack dempsey in a 10 gallon for 10 years only 2 or 3 inches long
Not an Lfs story but one that made me chuckle.
One of my friends ran up to me at school the other day looking kinda weepy so I asked her what was wrong. She burst out in tears saying that her favorite fish (a feeder guppy) had drowned. I asked if anything else could be the cause but she flat out refused that anything else could possibly had happened and that it had drowned. I had to walk away or I would have laughed at her.

Someone brought a 10g tank into my store today. She wasn't sure what we would put the fish in when she bought them? She didn't know about 'bagging fish'? So I put the fish in the tank for her to bring home...people are so strange, I don't even know what to think about that one.
Here's two things one is something to think about
Oscar, Pacu, Dragon Goby, Green Spotted Puffer....Same Tank
Pacu is apparently getting a "bigger" tank mabye a 150gal with goby in toe
I told the kid he'll need a 300gal+for the pacu and that the goby and puffer were brackish "what's brackish" he said
Oscar 6" oh what size tank is it 10gal, my heart stopped. He'll outgrow that in a month I said, he said oh well I'll get him a 20gal is that big enough? I said it'll need a 75gal. He says oh that's too big

This happened 3 times already in the first 2 weeks. People never fail to look around and find "nemo". Now i have no problem with clown fish being called "nemo" but when they ask if the whole store is freshwater, i can't help but stand there and wait for them to say just kidding. It doesn't happen lol. They see the movie and its in the ocean. Do they not understand that lakes and oceans are different. And o boy if i had to invent a word like brackish lol.
