Feeding gecko to Sand Boa

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
People say why kill a lizard when it eats mice.

Well why kill a mouse when it eats lizards?

It works both ways, see. People, don't flip out because he fed it a lizard.

Would be funny if it became stuck on geckos .as for a pet no i would not feed a pet to an other im merely saying rat vs gecko there both the same , but there are many reason not to feed the gecko off.

as for volunteering to care for it and feeding it off , yea thats a messed up thing to do .

Agreed. If I gave one of my pets to someone because I couldn't care for it, or they wanted it, etc, and they fed it to one of their animals, I'd be PISSED. In fact, I'd probably hit 'em frankly.
Shame that someone on MFK, which tries to instill respect in all fish, and I guess Reptiles, could possibly do such a thing. Sounds like something the people on YouTube who feed rats to Piranhas and Frogs to Oscars would do.:(

The Gecko was someone's pet. What would you say if you couldn't keep one of your Leos, so I said, Hey I'll take it, and I fed it to my Boa?

I'm perfectly fine with use of Lizards as feeders to animals that 100% need it. I plan to own a Liophis someday, and they 100% need live Lizards, But I'd never take a Lizard that was someone's pet and feed it to an animal that doesn't need it. If you think otherwise, I really have to wonder about you...

First off, I don't really see a reason to feed a gecko to a snake in the first place.
I have a kingsnake and a cornsnake, they are strictly feeder mice.
If it was raised as a feeder, okay great, but you volunteered to take this
poor reptile into your care and I take it because you "dont care for them"
you're just going to feed it as dinner?

Thats wrong in my opinion, you can get mad at me all you want, thats fine
by me. I honestly don't care.

You give animal lovers a bad name.

you have NO idea what kinda of internal parasite or anything that gecko had,
you can easily give that to your snake! Thats like letting your snake run
loose in your back yard or dangerously around your house. They can get sick
from the dust, mold, whatever and it can die.

what did you expect people to think when you posted this?

if it hadnt been a pet then i wouldnt have had a problem with this.

i dont agree with feeding live at all but at one point on of my boas HAD to go one live as it was his last chance...although i couldnt do it lol i gave him to a breeder up the road for a few weeks.

for example, i would not feed Blossom (1st pic) to the Childcatcher (2nd pic) because they r pets.

I see temper. Its funny how anybody can be worked out over a little comment which I thought was toned down. Look, it is okay to feed geckos, what is wrong is that, there are people who seem happy to look at geckos being torn up and gladly participate in it. Its life, give the poor thing some respect!

I wonder how funny I would feel when someone gets tossed into a tiger cage and the keepers bother to help the tiger tear him apart. Must be hilarious.:irked:

With this said, the OP should have just kept the gecko though, because its quite a sad story when you take a pet that got out of a previous owner's care and gets fed it to your own pet. Again, my comments are not directed at the OP, just at the mindless sadists who cause herpers to look like a bunch of killing lunatics.
