I see temper. Its funny how anybody can be worked out over a little comment which I thought was toned down. Look, it is okay to feed geckos, what is wrong is that, there are people who seem happy to look at geckos being torn up and gladly participate in it. Its life, give the poor thing some respect!

I wonder how funny I would feel when someone gets tossed into a tiger cage and the keepers bother to help the tiger tear him apart. Must be hilarious.:irked:

With this said, the OP should have just kept the gecko though, because its quite a sad story when you take a pet that got out of a previous owner's care and gets fed it to your own pet. Again, my comments are not directed at the OP, just at the mindless sadists who cause herpers to look like a bunch of killing lunatics.

not sure if that was directed at me lol not angry about it, just kinda dissappointed for the same reasons as everyone else.

the rest of what u said i completely agree with....well i agree with all of it lol but just didnt know if u were having a go at me lol

No actually... There are some mistakes in my post. Make some wrong interpretations of the earlier comments.

Losers like you give the animal rights nutters the ammo they need.Gives the rest of us a bad name.
really dude?

some of the people in this thread really puzzle me. Thier is nothing wrong with what he did what so ever. House geckos are used as feeders all the time. Same with anoles, even ball pythons. feeders are feeders. iv used guppys, crickets, neon tetras, goldys, rosies, ghost shrimp and others for my gar. does some of those, since they were breed to be feeders, make them more exceptable?

Yall need to get off ur high horses and enjoy predator and prey(this is called nature) alittle more.

I agree with ozz's post, its not that it was a gecko or someones pet. Its that he did it for his amusement I find disturbing.

of course one was breed to be a feeder and the other was not , but still neither deserve it . the actual feeding im not against if done for the right reasons .for someones amusement if not a good reason , solely as a feeder im fine with .just becouse we keep them does not ethically make them above any other animal. i feed my animals mice, rats, hamsters ,roaches, mealworms and pill bugs . neither for my amusement but for the plain act of dinner.

Its not nature, keeping herps in vivs,so you get off your high horse. This guy fed a pet lizard to his snakeas he thought it was "cool".Live feeding isnt the issue-no problem when its needed, the problem is a little boy thinking hes funny, and making herp keepers look like blood-thirsty retards by posting it on a public forum. If he had a snake that would only take live geckos, fair enough, but not a long-term pet just to get his rocks off.

The guys a tool.
I need to get off my high horse? look whos speaking. aint that the pot calling the kettle black?

Ur here calling people names(against MFK's TOS btw) and acting all high and mighty. dude calm down.

so he is keeping his herp in a viv. does that mean when it eats another living organism(like it normally would) that automatically makes it not nature? Animals eat animals. its a fact. my cats eats flys when they catch them. it is quite entertaining. does that make me blood thirsty?

All right. Both of you need to calm down and you do not need a fourteen year old to tell you to do that. LP, my take on this is that while it may be entertaining to observe nature, respect should be given to the creature who just lost its life, you most certainly don't go to a funeral saying, " Haha! I wonder if its cloudy in heaven!"
Likewise, you just can't be sadistic by implying," Yea, you should have seen his guts spill! the lizard was squirming to kingdom come!"

@Snakefin, Citrinellus

I think you guys put it best.

There are lots of Snakes out there that DO need live Lizards to survive. That's perfectly normal. But to take one that was someone's pet, and feed it to a Snake that doesn't need it, and just for fun, is just wrong, and anyone who gets enjoyment out of it... well we might have another Jeffrey Dahmer. That's all.

I don't see the point in feeding off a gecko to a snake for no real reason other than you thought it would be cool and that you don't care for geckos. If you didn't want it, why would you take it in in the first place? Why not just find another home for it to go to instead of just killing it? I have no problem using other animals as feeders for my animals but I would not tell someone I am going to care for their pet and then toss it in with one of my snakes then post pictures on a forum talking about how cool it is.
