In you opinion , what are the best methods of feeding our monster, predatory fish ?
Do we feed to satiation everyday, feed small amounts everyday, Feed to satiation then feed again after 2 days ? etc.

I feed my rays every day, as they have a fast metabolism and they require daily feeding to keep them in top shape. I have also done every other day with good results but i want to feed daily in moderation. Seems to be better for the water.

As for the less demanding fish ( i.e : all monsters that i have ) , i just feed them every other day. Healthy predatory fish in my opinion do not feed on a daily basis and not feeding them every day may actually be beneficial to them .

I feed all my fish everyday. I do gravel cleaning/water changes each week so levels stay good. I am trying to grow everybody out fast too.

I feed every day, until the fish is bursting.
I am trying to increase their growth rates. I have missed a day or so though somethimes which doesnt seem to matter.
I know some people who feed their fish twice a day which bulks up their fish, but that would really muck up the water right?

i feed my monsters every other day but my juves i feed every day my question though is how many times a day should we feed preds cause i only feed once (red not trying to derail your thread)

:D

i feed once or twice a day if i remember to in the first year then two or three times a week after the first year

For adult predatory fish, once a day should be sufficient.

There are different trains of thought. There are hobbyists that like to feed on a daily basis , and there are those who like to feed until the bellies are bursting and let the fish go without eating for a few days. They say that its closer to the actual feeding schedule most predatory fish have.

See, I'm more of the mind set of smaller meals more often. My Tiger O's grew to 8" in less than 6 months, and my Red Devil is on a similar pace. My Malawi tank, on the other hand has a day of fasting each week. But they aren't exactly predatory. I'm sure once my RD, JD and FH reach adulthood one feeding a day will suffice.

I try to feed my piranha daily, but he is still very unsure of me. I can get him to eat most of the time, but I still need to leave the room for him to finish most of his meals.
