Haha, sounds like a fun bird! My dad's friend got a FREE Scarlet Macaw. The reason he got it for free is because the people that had it thought it was sick because it plucked it feathers. My dads friend took it home, got it HUGE cage and it doesnt pluck anymore, he also lets it out everyday for a long time and just lets it fly around the house.

I wish I could get free Macaws! :(

My hubby always wanted a macaw too.. but now after owning mr Cash we could never have the perfect voice and diction that we get from Mr. Cash has from a macaw.. Cash talks like i talk ...no screeching and funny lisps... tBut macaws are beautiful .. that is for sure.. sometimes they have birds up for adoption because they are hard to place..they get so attached to their owners that they start screaming and plucking their feathers and go through anxiety due to separation if the person should pass away etc.. i am glad it worked out so well with your dads friend and the scarlet.. always nice to hear a happy bird story... what ever you decide please post a baby pic..

I'm pretty sure I'm getting a Timneh Grey, as They'll be available this Fall. It wont be that much of a baby, but it will be pretty small and just weaned to eating veggies, seeds, and pellets. And I will definately post pics! ;)

That'd be nice to see some pics. And that what I like about Parrots, they can be a life time companion, unlike a dog or cat that really doesnt live that long.
