Festae/Ornatum HELP

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
k on wensday i did a lrge water change and i treated the tank with prazi pro , so now what do i do my fish look the same , do i do another large water change today n retreat the tank

Clout will kill that "flesh rot" as I call it. I swear by the stuff for this type of infection. If you don't buy clout I guarantee your festae will die eventually. Clout is also effective with internal parasites. Trust me, I've used this MANY times and used to lose fish to flesh rot till I was turned onto clout. One of my Ornatum is very picky and somewhat skinny but he LOVES cleaned and cut up frozen shrimp. Try a couple of SMALL pieces of that after you've done a couple of Clout treatments. You can also try using a plastic hypodermic type needle (not a metal needle) to get a solution of metro and epsom salt into the fishes stomach. You'll need a very small one to get it past the mouth past the gill plates so the meds get into his stomach. Treating the tank with Metro is a waste of meds IMO, you have to get metro in the fishes digestive system or he's a goner. Your Festae is VERY saveable if you listen to me. The Ornatum is dicey right now....

Prazi Pro is rough on your fish IME. Clout is the way to go.

k where can i get clout , also do i have to water change and treat with prazi again or do i just retreat , and if i used a syringe could i like pour the prazi on the "fish rot" and in the ornatums mouth

No more prazi pro, and no "pouring" on the infected area. Do a water change and go buy clout and follow the directions. Superway probably has it, I know Pet Club in Emeryville does as well.

You need to find a syringe that has a plastic injector slim enough to get into the ornatum's mouth and past the gill plates to get metro into his stomach. Be VERY gentle. The good thing about Clout is it is very water soluble and can be absorbed easily just by it being in the water.

However, if you are not seeing any stringy feces it more than likely is not bloat. Is the Ornatum showing ANY interest in food? That Jungle Parasite clear is not bad and it has metro in it.

my ornatum trys to eat but hardly does , they have long white string poop, so post a pic of the syridnge u are talkin bout plz and i guess i gotta go buy clout now

k got any pics of the syringe thing

why do you need a pic of a hypodermic needle with a plastic tip? seems simple enough but I guess I'll post one

they also have plastic sleeves for the normal metal tips, you just need to find one that is rigid and fits the needle gauge if you cannot find an all plastic syringe.

Goodluck
And have you started using epsom salt yet? =p

thanks for the pic i kept thinkin of some other needle thing, and im going to home depot today to get the epsom salt i forgot which one to get it has to be like non iodized 99% right
