Festae/Ornatum HELP

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
There are times (such as this) that I wonder how some people manage to wipe their own arse without someone helping them.
11 days later & these fish STILL haven't been given proper treatment. Personally I think that the OP should slow down on acquiring any fish at this time.

wtf lol u guys are funny , yes i can move the ornatum and festae out my big tank , but i just wanted to make sure all the parasites and stuff were killed in the big tank to , so ima move the ornatum to my 72 g with my discus is that alright and safe , but first i need to find a needle thing and the i gotta go to home depot for some salt , and then find metro , sorry but things have been hectic and i cant seem to find a ride lately

also i have not bought any fish for like 2 months

HELL no it is not safe lol. don't introduce a possible parasite to your discus.... move him to a small tank he can be alone in, even if you have to buy a 20g tank to do so. he needs to be alone bare bottomed and have cover, no other fish, keep temps up and treat him for internals. Use the epsom salt method recommended as well as pumping some metro down his throat with the needle. you can also use the jungle meds from walmart they have metro in them. not sure what you should do with your festae but again I would isolate.

and as far as your 180 raise the temp to 86+ and add epsom salt according to the volume. a simple round of meds wont kill all the parasites in your 180 btw

shoot i went through 2 different meds m and multiple water changes they better die lol, k i can divide my 30 g tank up , all i got in there is small growout jaguars that are 2"

also my bad i will try an search for it but with the epsom salt its 1 teaspoon for every 5 gallon's or i forgot

Rd posted a very good thread on using epsom salt as he had mentioned before.... just go there.

also dividing the tank won't protect other fish from whatever your fish may have =p

k so i reread his thng again and it finallly made sense , and i add 3% epsom salt to 16fl.oz of water then i jsut drip that on food , and feed to my fish , or for a fish thats not eating like my ornatum just squirt it carefully i his mouth everyday till he is no longer craping white,
