Everytime someone puts a Red Terror with those darn Rainbow Cichlids lol
It's been a while but heres another update.
Stomper and Lucille have been going through the courting phases every month and a half or so. What typically happens is the divider stays up and the eggs don't take simply because I'm not around, or they just don't get it right when the divider is down. In previous attempts they've turned on each other over protection of the eggs, eaten the whole batch, and in the more recent trials they've guarded the eggs together to the end with no luck.
This last couple weeks though they finally got it right! Well, almost half right anyways. A little more than half the eggs went white, but the others made it. I'm pretty stoked about it so I'll be adding some pics and videos to the thread when I get the chance.
Here's a couple pics for now, I still have to grab some others off my phone. Sorry for the lighting, I didn't want to disturb them.

Here's a video of them both flirting and tending to the wigglers. It's kind of a bummer though because you can't see the wigglers since they're behind the lava rock. The tank is in a high traffic area of the house and it seems they wanted to hide them away from the people rather than any fish. Like I said, a little less than half of the eggs actually turned to wigglers....and the rest, well lets just say Stomper had himself a feast while violently doing the mating shake over the lava rock

Yea these guys were making me yawn for a while to be honest. So it's been a while since I cleaned the glass lol. I guess I owe it to them now huh?
Stomper only pulls his bars out when he see's the fry lol. He forgets hes a dad as soon as he swims away from them lol.

Mom seemed to be doing more of the work while Stomper kept his distance. He was in denial about the whole thing apparently. After getting all fiesty and lip locking with her I pulled the fry and separated them. She might have went bat **** crazy on him I'm not really sure to be honest. I do know that they woke me up after banging their pot around and stirring their fry up. I think they might really hate each other deep down inside, they've always been like water and oil compared to my last couple pairs!
Theres about 70 fry give or take and I'll be starting a growout thread with weekly updates for them.
