Then, I see festae with Y how this but the spot is big, and another festae have the spot up an small but not have the Y. If exist this, its posible what some festae don´t have the Y and have big spot. What do you think about this? Its rare what a lot of people buy festae when they are urophthalmus, when the two species are dificult to find.

Where your from, maybe harder, but back here the 'false' festae are easy to come across. So easy, that it becomes difficult to track down the real ones. I go by the spot on the back, and so far it has rung true. If it is centered, fake, up near the top, real, if you are still unsure, you can also go by the Y-bars as someone mentioned. In my friends expierences, the festae usually turn those nice shades from a silver, there really wasn't a drab inbetween dull red or yellow for them, they just all of a sudden got thier color, not faded into it. Right now mine are still silver, as they aren't very large yet.

:iagree: my LFS has a tank full of "red terrors" for like $3 but theyre all mayans. i had to special order my true festae

urophthalmus are actually really easy to find in the states. My guess is the fish above is a hybrid.

Nope male myan in breeding colors

Hello as others said your fish is a uropthalmus the second fish you posted is also a uropthalmus looks at its tail spot its very big pretty big give away plus true festae will not get colors like that

Uropthalmus are sold as festea very often here in the U.S and i'm told this happens in europe to

Your uropthalmus will be just fine they can be very aggressive and eat a ton it won't have any problems getting food or have any problems with getting beat up it should mix well with your fish
