Very apparent that You have never kept Fesate.Don't get Me wrong, I like the rtm too(curently have both) but it's hands down Festae in the looks department!

In all honesty, I was thinking the same thing about the festae being the more colorful, but did you see they pic of his MOTA?

Thats as rich in color as any festae Ive kept. Maybe the frequency of it or the brightness isnt as strong as the festae, but thats pretty damn red (maroon actually) in that picture.

Also, I believe he does keep festae as well.

Yes,I saw the pic of the RTM.I have 2 females from the same source as his they are just Younger and smaller. But in 20 yrs of keeping fish I have never seen a better looking freshwater fish than a Festae!

Yes,His RTM is very Red and a looker but like You stated is the frequency and brightness as strong as a Festae? One as nice as His is much fewer and farther between than with Festae

I agree. Also ime, RTM's hide too much whereas my Festae are always out and about. Actually as far as Parachromis, I'd take a Jag over a Mota.

thats with a flash the color is every bit as vibrant as festae the white on the chin actually has a blue tint, I do not have a festae but my uncle has had a female both great fish, you don't really see any ugly specimens

from everyone here they both seem like great fish.
Yes, they are both great fish. Like I said in my first post, you really won't go wrong either way, it's going to come down to preference. Whichever someone lists as they're personal favorite, I'm sure the other isn't too far behind. Just go with what you personally like better. Have you come to a conclusion yet?
