i need help determining sex of fish i've already posted before but starting to get more color and it's two inches bigger it's about 7 -8 inches now it is always changing color blue speckles always coming and going and i dont know how to vent

I think male. Females rarely have the spangling and the front half of the dorsal fin is blue/black on females.

neither of those two characteristics are ways to tell the sex of festae...different locales & different strains of the species look completely different than one another and the heads are different looking. Look at the festae strain in Australia. It looks different than those currently being sold in the trade.

Color can differ according to stress level, tankmates, food, spawning or not, genetics & more. The male above is 4 inches and look at its color.
