filtration for 12x4x3

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
Just make a box large enough for the pond filter to go in and isolate it very good. Watch out for overheating though. You would probably hear the thing, but you get used to it (I have my tank in my room to) and it's the cheapest option. What are you planning to put in the tank?

i was seriously thinking that;) i just didnt want to sound dumb, how would you do it tho? put two hoses out your window, it might look a little odd!!!! dont ya think?

ummm not shure if i cant get it filterd than no fish so im gonna make shure i can filter it b4 anything but maby 2 tigs a red oscar aros short bodied paroonif icould find one those fish are so cool dats and gars huge plecos and tin foils

well you can obviously filter it, but the cost of filtering it will empty your pocket just a little bit(hahaha) as for fish, dats would be nice, or a few snakeheads, aro's, gars, or the PIKES. and you definatley have to have a bad ass pleco in there!

i really want a short boddied paroon im insainly inlove with those fish

Since you already have bulkheads drilled why not try using large food grade plastic barrels?... partition up one small portion of the barrel with an acrylic sheet and just leave a small gap below it so that water can pass. Place the return pump in that samll portion of the barrel and the media in the big portion. Just make sure that both of the return pumps have the same rating so that it does not overflow. The other way is to go look for old tanks in garage sales etc... then get some pieces of glass cut according to size and make your own sump.

I have built tanks this size and larger and filters for them. What size bulk heads are in the ends of the aquarium? Are they inside an overflow box? I want to see some pictures of the tank and the stand it's sitting on. THis will help with ideas on some filtration system options.

Is this glass, acrylic or plywood?

the bulk heads are drillen in the acrlic there about 2 inches maby the stand is as long as the tank had has alot of cabinets underneth it very roomy i could like have 6 people sleep in there
