Finally a drip system!!!

Nice setup, and family as well. He's growing fast.

How close is your tank to the water lines in your house? I would like to do a drip system but would have to run the water and drain lines quite a distance.
 
Thats cool, I really need to figure out how to run a drip to mine with out having lines running through the
middle or along the base boards of my finished basement. Or having to tear into the wall and drill holes
through all the studs and then have to redrywall and tape. YUCK! Other wise I would have done it now.

Electricians have canals they put their wires in(i am electrician), often used in office buildings, you can install one of those under the list, and put the waterline inside there, invisible ;)


And people, if you dont wanna make a drip system, you can also have a timer on the waterline into the sump, that puts the amount of water you wanna change, at one time, every day..Then you can test the water before letting it go..(same hour every day).

it is worth it though!!! I ran my water line thru my attic. I just drilled a hole and ran the drain straight thru the wall in to my yard.
 
Wish I had a drain in my basement! I have to pump all my water up stairs haha! Talk about time consuming! I like how your system looks fishdog! How are the lil jags?

I've been dripping for over 2 years....it was the best thing I ever did.

I had to use a dosmatic injector though to mix prime into the water solutions to the 540 in the dining area and the fish room. I am dripping 120 gallons per day for the 540 and 100 gals per day for all the tank in the fish room

Just be careful with Chloramines, carbon will remove the chlorine from the Chloramine, but will leave you with a lot of ammonia as a result. As long as the drip is gradual, you'll be fine. The BB will consume the ammonia as it entered the system.

Try not to drip too much, but rather small portion over longer period of time.

My dosmatic is located in the garage, I use a regulator to regulate the pressure to 25-30 Psi (60 psi out of the tap). From there, the line splits into two. One to the dining room (40 feet of travel) and one to the fish room (10 feet of travel).

I run all lines in the attic, just drop it down to where the tank is located.

I never had any problem with losing or weakaning pressure.

I had to run water lines in my craw space about 6 feet but I did this 3 years ago when I built my tank and stand. I cut a 12 x 12 hole in the drywall behind the stand and just left it open. If I ever take the set up down I will have to repair the wall. The drain runs out the foundation which is about a 30 foot run of 1" pipe. I am working on slowing it down to around 50 or 60 gallons a day. I was turned onto flow restrictors from a friend that I am going to look at so I do not have to worry about valve adjustments.

Jag pups are doing great, eating like little vultures LOL
