Electricians have canals they put their wires in(i am electrician), often used in office buildings, you can install one of those under the list, and put the waterline inside there, invisible ;)

And people, if you dont wanna make a drip system, you can also have a timer on the waterline into the sump, that puts the amount of water you wanna change, at one time, every day..Then you can test the water before letting it go..(same hour every day).

Unsure what you mean by canals and under the list. Please explain or pm and explain.

Sorry for the derail Mike!

Not sure if you have gas or electric water heater, but if it's gas that system will REALLY shine once the power goes out. I never even broke a sweat when we were without power for 26 hours straight..... Drip kept pond warm and rays happy, just cranked the valve up a bit and let the warm water flow.... Still need a livewell pump to keep bio alive but in the event of several days without power this could be a ray life saving device for sure!!!!

Now you'll have more time for... Well, more rays lol

You do need to remove the chlorine as it doesn't gass off that quickly, at the start of a sump it could kill the bacteria, at the other end the water is more depleted of oxygen.

There seems to be some copper in your set up, I would be worried about the copper content of the hot water supply as well as the copper in the plumbing in the picture.

My hma filter removes copper as well as chloramine...I would be concerned with the supply if there is no chloramine protection as i have it on good authority that it would kill a ray before it had chance to dissipate...there is not much that can remove it, this is why prime is important.

I had to run water lines in my craw space about 6 feet but I did this 3 years ago when I built my tank and stand. I cut a 12 x 12 hole in the drywall behind the stand and just left it open. If I ever take the set up down I will have to repair the wall. The drain runs out the foundation which is about a 30 foot run of 1" pipe. I am working on slowing it down to around 50 or 60 gallons a day. I was turned onto flow restrictors from a friend that I am going to look at so I do not have to worry about valve adjustments.

Jag pups are doing great, eating like little vultures LOL

I use drip emitters. They work great for adjusting flow but they only work with the correct psi. I drip 4gph on my 210 and the same on the 250.

well a drip wont work for me... my water dept. uses CHLORAMINE instead of chlorine... it sucks

It'll still work just gotta get the right filters.....

Lots of US homes have copper lines, no different than doing a 100 gallon water change because the water would go through copper anyways.

Yes Alan gas water heater here so good to go
