FINALLY FINISHED!

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
I just moved in my 6" channel cat last night, along with some of the gravel from my 55 to help finish out the cycle. It's not totally done, but almost. He was exploring when I woke up this morning and seemed really happy! HE HAD ROOM! And he ate when I gave him some shrimp pellets. I think I'll move the rest of them over next week!

NICE JOB. build one like it back in the 80s real nice Pro job there. Did you weld the fames your self or have a shop fab them for you. When I did mine I had a machine shop complete the final assembly on the frames. Did you use glass or acrylic??????? Any how please send some pic when you get it up and running.

Just a thought - I usally run several cups of PURE Amonia to get the Bio action started and run it for 30 days then I cycle White clouds, they are hardy little buggers.......And please do not cycle gold fish. Dam feeders i used last month had a paracite on them and its been a real F*&K ING pain. GOOD LUCK

I'm slowly moving fish in, and the last one waiting for the move at the moment is my Oscar. He's sick again. I used glass and we welded the frames in my friend's garage. He works at a metal fab shop, so we go the hook-up on the metal. Did the cutting at the shop and most of the welding at his place.

I thought this was a repair job when first reading, but it sounds like you built this from scratch. Was the glass used tempered glass?

Good job on the tank! Looks great!

I know this is late, but saying danios are disease free is a little misleading. While feeders such as goldfish are known to be transmit all sorts of nasty pathogens, theres a high chance EVERY fish at the LFS no matter what species it is to carry disease. Whatever you used i hope you quarantined it first and hit it with some meds just in case.

wow man that is amazing

what size of metal did you use for the frame ? 1/8 als did you fit the frame tight to the glass or did you leave some room for play and use some silicone to act like a cusion ?

I started as a repair job that almost turned into a total build. I had the 4 walls, but nothing. else. Lots of fun :o)

Yeah, I used 1/8 angle iron, and a silicone cusion. 1/32 of room on each side. Thanks for the compliments :o)
