Hey all,

I finally found healthy looking baby BGK - so I bought 4.

YES - I understand their size, that they are territorial once they get just a bit bigger - I have one that is now almost 14 inches - and I hope to get a 'mated pair' out of the 4.

They are in QT for the next few weeks at least so it is a little more cramped than I would like but it was the only fully cycled tank I had available. There is a Gold Gourami in the QT as well - recovering from being dumb and trying to beat up everything that moved. All meds are done and he is just in there so that I can keep the water conditions better than usual to get his strength back. I have a tank divider in - but the baby ghosts found a spot and they visit with the Gourami. The Gourami has not even acknowledge that the ghosties are there... so I guess it is OK for now. I will be putting out a local ad shortly to find the Gourami a new home - he just is too aggressive for my tanks. Then the full tank will be available and I will add more hiding places.

So - 4 baby ghosties - about 2 1/2 inches long. They look to be in good health - no missing tails or shredded fins. They are eating like little piglets.. one ate from my hand for a bit. :hearts:

The plan is a 125 to 200 gal tank for them - with custom built caves/tunnels - lots of territory as they start to grow up. And YES I understand that they can kill each other and that it does happen. I will be watching carefully and do my best to avoid it if at all possible.

Now for Pics - first the new babies and then a couple of 'Shadow' - by big boy!

I have two little bgks in the tank with the big bgk, the big guy doesn't bother the two little rascals (or kill them) but the problem is the two cuties are always in the powerhead motor. I will buy a small tank for the guys. How many gallons did you put the four bgk Martin?

They are in a 20 gal for now. I have a 45 that will be available within the next month and they will be upgraded to that while I work on getting their BIG tank.

Max size is listed as 24 Inches - I think most in aquariums get between 14 - 18 inch.

Good luck with those little guys! They look great!

Thanks Ben.

I will try it keep everyone updated as to how it goes.... but I am guessing that they have to be around the 7 - 8 inch range before they will start to pair up.. so not a lot of excitement for a while - atleast I hope not :)
