i love growing gars out just as much as the next one but the last order of small trops was over $100 over priced and they were all there was for a while. as soon as i herd madding was parting with some the wheels set in motion with clay to find a way to get me some.

i actually turned down a gator on a trade. i dont want to risk anything i got with one.

in all honesty i have put some thought into selling my 2 small fl and my small lng. that gar tank is running kinda full. more so with the 2 trops and i have something in the works.

aside from the gar there is a pbass, ornate, channel catfish and a bowfin. the channel, pbass and ornate are likely on the way out. i am working on a few more garditions. may have to sell the smaller growouts but it may work out we will see.

thought i would add the filtration.

i have a hob overflow. with a 700gph odassy canaster full of bioballs as the return pump. i have a 40galish sump with floss, bioballs, crushed coral(for cuban) a spunge filter and a heater in there. i have live plants in the tank and i am redoing my hydrophonics and making a 1000gph flow hydrophonics system for the top of the tank.

i am redoing the top of the tank to give my trops more room for air the big one likes to put its hole head into a breath and will hit the top from time to time. i also have led lights on the tank. i will also be adding a marineland 350 filled with ceramics i have left over from my 75 gal i broke down.
