Finally joining the club

I would have liked to do more in the corners, but the bulkhead holes are close to the edge, i'll have 1/2" clearance with the 1x3 I used in the corners. I still have to sheet the back and sides, plungecut the door holes, trim it up, and paint it. Same with the canopy.

Lights and stuff finally on the way from aquatrader, ordered 2/12 shipped 2/21. Not too horrible, but filter socks are apparently backordered until 2/24. Can't wait to get this dang thing fired up.
I've been debating between hard pipe or tubing. If I used tubing I could reduce head by not needing any 90's. Are there any benefits to using pvc over vinyl tubing?

I can't afford to re-do the canopy or do any acrylic work. If I just got egg-crate to keep the fish from jumping out, do I need to worry about condensation building up in the canopy? Should I just put a vent hole at the top of the canopy in the back?

No idea on your canopy question, I've never had a full cover canopy. My thoughts would be opening it up for feeding/etc would be plenty of venting as long as the inner canopy is painted/not raw wood. I'm about to paint one I built for my brother, but that is mostly for light reflection.

Goodies from AT arrived today!
So far, everything looks good, lights/timers function. Can't tell if heater works yet. Filter sock holder seems decent enough. Even though the t5 lights all share the same reflector, it's still way bright. Considering a LFS around here wanted $60 for a single bulb T8 fixture, I think I came out ahead.

If you really want to switch all your current fish to the new tank then you could get some tiger barbs, silver dollars, maybe angle fish but if I where going to do a big 200 gal tank I wouldnt go with the small fish I'd probably go with a silver arowana some peacock bass, tiger datnoid, maybe a needle nose gar, red tail catfish, and some others..
