finally ordering bichirs. finally

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
lol, you have been hanging around here too long! We are starting to make you question if a big tank like that is even big enough! ;)
I know. Been on here too many hours each day. Lol. It's probably an obsession/addiction. Next thing you know, I'm going to start hoarding polys.

lol, mine is not 'big' just really round shaped (fat).

that's what all the BBW would say. Round, thick in the right places, or a few lbs extra LMAO

yeah I've been looking on craigslist every week. Contacted someone about their 175, but they haven't gotten back to me. My friend has a 300 for sale...my parents aren't too keen on a fish tank the size of the kitchen. So thinking of places to put it. Or go for 180g cause it's smaller. ;) The 300g has a 24" width. I know the wider the better, would that be enough though?
150 5x2 or 125 is perfect

no, I appreciate you being a "stick in the mud." I want to provide my polys with the best possible care. That's good to know about the getting the bigger tank immediately. I was hoping I could stay with the 55g for a year. I don't think I could get rid of my ornate, as he is my first poly and the best. So the better option might be to look into bigger tanks first, something in between size, a little smaller than 180, until I can upgrade. Will look around instead of at the 180+s.
I grew all my 8 ornate and 8 cb endli in my 75g but only lasted me about 5 months before i transfer them to a 180g that i have now. I dont know the growth rate of a teug and weeksii cause i never had one, but like DMD123 DMD123 mentioned ornate grow pretty fast, had my 8 size 2" when i got them, in five months they were atleast 7"-8".

ironically a 150 showed up on Craigslist today for $175. tank only. and a small stand. Going to go look at it this weekend. Would need to buy filter, hood, and either make or buy a new stand because the stand is only 2 feet high. Thoughts about drilling and sumps? I've cleaned enough canisters in my life lol. Feel like I could make a sump.
