Great news! Because I have 3 Zonatus, and I really really hope one of those is male--they all have gold eyes.

My Bifa's are both female I think based on shape of their head, they have gold eyes.

My "Synspilum" and Melanurus both have, I think, slightly blue eyes....bluish.

One of my Argentea has smokey grey eyes, sometimes gold, never really blue.

In picture #3, what is the pimple looking thing on his/her head?

Or is it just a funny camera angle? :)

No, it's not camera angle. I have no idea what it is. It's been on there a couple weeks now, too. He's got a couple scales on his side messed up from a bite from another fish, so I figure the thing on his forehead is from the same argument.

I hope it just clears up. Because that's a cool fish.

I hope it clears up too.. He/she is stunning! :)

The gold and blue eye thing was first reported in Lee,s Central Scene magazine on V. Melanurus. He clarified later that he observed it on melanurus only, and not sure if it is applicable to other Vieja species.

Think this topic needs it's own thread
