FIREMOUTH Spawning

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
Bit of an update... as expected all the fry got eaten but the tankmates but I intend of moving the Firemouths into their own 60 gallon evironment soon.

Hes currently 4" in body length approx.... most of that length, it seems, is in his snout!:)

Latest update... The pair have spawned yet again... I think I've got a good pair here... I big firey Male and a very fertile nicely colored female!

Not the sharpest image but shows off the colors nicely and the male is growing fast.

They would look better if they weren't photo shopped. Dont get why a lot of you photo shop your pictures, its freaking obvious as hell.

LOL. I got a new program on my iPhone that basically photo shops. I use it because it takes better pictures than the standard camera app, but it has some funny settings I was messing with the other day.

This is my avatar pic:

Hahahaha. :)

(1) I don't have photoshop! (2) I have flash photography (earlier pics) and fast lens photography (pics above) as Flash tends to drawn out the true colors - hence the difference in pic quality by the way (blurring)... Some people on this site are so damned disrespectful!

It looks photo shopped to me. I too own a Firemouth and take pics of fish, and Ya, they dont have that much red. Nice try though. But they do look good. :)

Look how red my Festae is. :) Keep up the great pics. :)

It's all good... The pics look good, fish spawned, etc. Shawn can come off as a jerk but I think he means well, it must just be in his nature. ;)

Nice meeki. I came close to purchasing a few today but successfully talked myself out of it. I like your idea of buying one here, one there until you have a pair. You don't see people claiming an f# for this species so selective line breeding seems the way to go indeed.
Photo parameters aside, it's obvious that you have a healthy, well cared for, clean looking pair of fish there. Nice job.
