First Arowana...Any Advice?

Well...first of all when I am trying to feed an earthworm to him he won't respond to me trying to feed it to him, or to me dropping it in the tank, or to me clipping it to the side of the glass at the top of the water.
I think I just need to get him trained to the sticks. I am having trouble with this though...the juvenile swordtails are gone and all that is in the tank with him are the plecos and the loaches.
I have not seen him eat any of the sticks yet...doesn't mean he hasn't. I'll try the shrimp. He definitely ate a few of the swords before I got them out though...so I know he has eaten something.

I guess I'll just keep tossing in a couple sticks at a time until he realizes they are food? Is this the best way of going about "training" him to eat sticks?

I realize I'm probably just working myself up a bit more than i need to...but I'm just trying to get him on sticks...and I don't want to kill him because I won't give him anything but the sticks. I'm rambling...

As I stated in your other thread, only offer the pellet or food sticks. Once eating, then you can expand the menu to include other items.

When I had my Silver he muched on freeze dried krill the first day.
Experiment with any type of floating food and see if he will grab any.
Throw in a few pieces and see if he'll eat it, if he don't grab it in 1 minute just grab it out of the water and try again in a few hours. Soon he will start to notice that it's food.

cool setup..
