First Car Advice!! :D

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
G35's are nice. IS300's are luxury and sport combined, that's why i got one. I love mine because it has leather seats with cloth on the middle so that it looks nice and its comfortable. You don't get swamp ass from the leather on hot days. :headbang2

It has pretty decent performance and if fixed up the right day can pull all the ******es ;)

Turbos, depending on size, can at least double your horsepower. Cold air intake adds maybe 5-6hp. If you have $6k to spend on a turbo kit, DO IT. Exhaust, fuel system and engine management systems are a few of the other common upgrades.
depends on the CAI. i know a certain car that gains alot more from a good duel CAI. alot more than 5hp

Just know as a teen you are a cop magnet. Buy a used STOCK Beamer or Mercedes....You do not need to turn it into a circus mobile and everyone will know you have good taste and you will be safe in it. Of course the cops will probably tag you as a drug dealer anyway.......but it will be stealthy.

plus every mod voids another warranty.....tweaking an egine will kill your tranny in months......oh yeah...how about a twelve hundred dollar set of tires every 7 months??? Modify a car and you will work as job to support it! (where my fish money go??))

For a first car, buy something practical you can drive everyday. "Performance" and "modded" cars will cost you more in the long run when you start to fix what breaks.

Worry about more important aspects in life while you have the time to. If you want a race car or a car to modify, wait until you can do it right.

First car? easy. Volvo. You will crash it eventually. You might as well live!

my exact same thought, you can get some nice luxury with a turbo for the speed side. A S80 T6(used) has twin turbo

howbout you just come see me and buy a new rx8? :) i used to work for BMW and had 2 but ya they are going to cost you A LOT to own.

Here are the facts.

You will wreck your first car in an accident.

This is not always true.

My first car was a hand me down from my bother in which the timing chain broke(when my dad was driving it back in 1982). They only paid a few hundred bucks for it. My second car was more or less my first one which I drove for a few years until engine issues and got rid of in 1993(10 years later with no accident).

I got my third car in 1985 and still have it today with no accident.

I understand that I may be a rare case.

To Op, I would still buy a cheap car and focus on improving driving stills before buying a car that you really fall in love with.

depending on you local dealer, most modds wont void your warrenty. here is warrenty in a nutshell. yes forced induction will void warrenty. anything else, the company has TO PROVE WHAT YOU ADDED CAUSED FAILURE OF FACTORY PARTS. just because you added 100 HP and your transmission went doesnt mean the manufacturer wont cover it.
