First catfish suggestions

I'm considering ordering from http://www.zimmermansfish.com/Price.html What is the minimal adult size of sunfish that can be kept with the bullhead? Also how do I know what species of sunfish can live together. I really have no knowledge of native fish. So I guess what size, what species and how many in a 120 with the cat?
Many of the leopomis genus would work, some a school of long ears would look great, awsome colors on those guys, greens would probably work to but they can get a little touchy, so be careful of agression if you get one of them.

That is the fish I got. Is it a juvenile brown bullhead?

Is four foot length an appropriate distance or is it not super active. I would do sunfish with it I believe just have to pick the species. What about temperature? Is driftwood ok what about caves and plants. Thanks for all your help so far I'm so excited.

4ft is perfect and they love driftwood and caves, temps for most Bullhead are good between 45 and 80 degrees as long as it is done gradually, Zimmermans fish, Jonahs aquarium, Btdarters and Sachs aquaculture are all highly rated native lfs's two of which I have purchased from; You would want adult sunfish with adult Bullhead, or young sunfish with young bullhead otherwise one will usually become lunch. You could put two Bullheads I with 4 large Lepomis (Bluegill, Green, Pumpkinseeds, Redbreast, Warmouth)or 6 medium Lepomis (Spotted or Central Longear) in a 120 with no problem.

Thanks a ton for your advice :) I can't wait to order my sunfish. Should the bullhead be grown in a separate tank from the sunfish? Also do you have an opinion on which species of bullhead I have?

I have just tried to answer your sister post on PCF: http://www.planetcatfish.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=13&t=39228 IMO, it is Ameiurus serracanthus.

My cry for help has been answered and my opinion is overturned:

As MN_Rebel would say for sure, it must be a southern (mottled variant of) brown bullhead. It is not a spotted bullhead aka FL bullhead aka Ameiurus serracanthus.

Yup that is spotted version of brown bullhead, they are very beautiful even at adult size! I would think that you do need large lepomis species such as Pumpkinseed, Bluegill, Redear or Warmouth. I may suggest a green sunfish but they are very aggressive to each other.

There were two species of sunfish I was interested in, one being the central longear sunfish 7-8" max size supposedly, and the Western dollar sunfish max 5". Do you think the western dollars would be to small? If I go with the central longear how many would you recommend for a 120g.

Adixon816, I don't feel comfortable housing small lepomis species with a very large bullhead species which can easily surpassed 16" in captivity no problems. Brown bullheads are very large fish that can reach more than 16" and few 24 inchers have caught. Longears and dollars are out of question.
