worried about the thumbs, perhaps a revolver. although learning proper handling will solve that problem. first time i ever fired a pistol i got pinched by the slide, has never happened since lol.

i just don't feel safe (for those around me) holding it otherwise

yeah any nice pump shotgun wit a couple of blanks wrapped off would scare the crap out of an intruder haha actually any gun wit blanks fired will let the person know you aint afraid to blow there head off

if you're ever going to point a gun at someone you'd better be ready to kill that person

i'm not firing a blank at a guy that i don't know if he has a LOADED gun or not

:irked:
such crappy advise

true i was just sort of kidding but have the first one as a blank the next as
00 buckshot that will hurt :)

what sort of sense does this make? let's make the threat think we shot at them and hope they don't return fire so we can shoot again? wow, i feel sorry for anyone you are attempting to protect. I'll stick with all my rounds in the shotgun being S&B 00 buck and all my rounds in the handguns being JHP Speer Gold Dots. I don't feel that a life threatening situation should be treated like a theme park wild west shoot out. just my thoughts, maybe i'm way off.

LoL either you mean 1000 ft or you were grossly miss told. Heck, Id like for you to show me a place in Penn where there is even room for a 1,000 yard shot!

Let me guess, he killed an elk with that 30-30 from 500yards too didnt he?
are you serious? you obviously have no idea what you're talking about! There are plenty of places in PA to shoot 1000+ yards.

.308 ammo is more common and less expensive than .264 any place, any time.
very true...never said it wasn't.

My uncle had a gun made years ago (passed away a few years ago :( )...a .240 Weatherby mag necked up to a 6.5mm that we're converting to a .264 for a long range gun for elk. It's a Ruger 1. And, btw, this year, my cousin (when he was with me) shot and immediately dropped at cow elk at 600 yards...with guess what?....a .264 win mag

What interests you? Sounds like you have several sporting rifles. Why not look at some old mil-surps?

If you want to spend more, "evil black rifles" like AKs and ARs have dropped significantly in price the last month or so. Many great deals are out there right now if you are interested in going that route.
