i would say a fire eel but i think they get a lill over 2 feet ;) cool as hell when they get big

I picked up a fire eel the other day, he's about 14".. for $30! They develop a personality and are little badasses

How about peacock bass? I could ugarade when they get bigger.

The tank will be a temporary. They will be upgraded bigger and bigger until they have enough space. I'm also taking suggestions on fish to add or remove from the mix. The tank will have a South American theme.

1 Peacock Bass (Cichla Moloculus)
1 Common Pleco (Glyptoperichthys gibbiceps)
3 Red Bellied Pacu (Colossoma bidens)

Start up a native tank with NA sunfish and/or a bowfin-perfect fit... Although some say a bow nees like a 300, but mine seems to enjoy the temp 90 he's in. But don't mix sun's and a bow... either or.

But if you insist on heating the tank, look at some of the more common SA cichlid's as they need the bigger 125. So far the most aggressive fish I've kept has been a green sunfish-mine hates everything and everybody....Still trying too figure out what it likes to eat...

When did you get your Green? Mine was picky first (caught in my neighbors pond at 8") but now eats everything and is very greedy eating pellets and raw shrimp. Mine was also very aggressive at first, had to introduce him to my 8" jack which let him know who was boss. Now he is fine, and strangely enough, my jack and him are friends even sharing his house, which is really weird since he is paired with a female jack that also shares the house.

To OP, I would suggest a Lima Shovelnose Catfish, rarely get bigger than 18". Not very aggressive, but it looks really cool and almost like a shark in the way it swims and hits food.

Thanks for the suggestions. I haven't had a green sunfish, yet. I used to have a red breasted sunfish, but we sold him. He was killing everthing int the tank. He probly killed $100 of fish.

Agree with Etan

Fahaka... not necessarily rare... but cool as hell and they have tons of personality...

None of those are really aggressive or rare like you stated you wanted... Plus your tank is way to small for 2/3 of those fish. Planning on upgrading is usually setting up to failure as some people plan on it and things come up. Not to mention You'd need to upgrade to something along the lines of like a 300g tank considering you have a RBP and Pbass in there...
