the new tank is beautiful! love the scaping on it! nice job

Hi,

Thanks much! The new tank is not yet scaped :) The new scaping is on the old 180 that is being supplanted by the new one.

The new tank rocks! Your plumbing method is interesting, I can't wait to see how you plumb the new tank!

Thanks! The plumbing kind of grew over time. I did not want to drill again so DIY work for extra flow was required :)

The new tank will be simple:

1. Lifereef dual intake slimline overflow.
2. Aqueon proflex sump with dual intakes, 3 sock filters, and wet/dry media kit
3. Mag drive 1200 gph to run the sump
4. Vortech MP40 for extra in tank flow

Should be fairly simple !

I am THINKING about adding one of the NC models inline AFTER the sump but this will be based on bio-load and fish species if it is required.

Hello gerryd, I took a look at the first link of your photobucket pictures and I'm just wondering how old was the set up with the tiger barbs? You probably know more about plants than I do but the tank was missing color, it would probably look gorgeous though with more plants for the background and a complete carpet(maybe some more driftwood too).

P.S. I can't wait for this project to be done :)

Hi there,

Many thanks for the reply. The 180 scape with the tiger pack is from Oct iirc. The current SCAPE of the 180 is only about 2-3 weeks old. The 'lack' of color is deliberate at the current time.

I am waiting for my stauro repens 049 to ship when the weather cools and that will be my carpet plant.

The other plants are only several weeks old and will need time to grow and expand. I think I am done with driftwood for this tank. I have lots left over, but too much would not be the look I wanted.

I guess then this scape is NOT gorgeous per your benchmarking :)

I am not a good scaper by any means, but the plants and fish are healthy. Plus, I LIKE IT LOL

I also want the project to get finished, but some fun can be found in the setup as well.

looking good!!!

Hello there,

I see, I meant to say, "not gorgeous yet" :)

I.m.o. for the number of fish that you had, the tank didn't have the depth yet, which made it seem smaller than it is.

I think your new set up will be great! In 4 months, the tank would probably win tank of the month:naughty:

great job!

Thanks much but I haven't done too much yet myself except for planning, coordination, and payment lol
