first "real" build 320gal!!

Looking at the picture you have posted I can see some LR on the backside of the tank where the bulkhead fitting go through the wall. You want to sand that LR off of that area or place a piece of wood over it so the nut that tightens the bulkhead fitting does not come on contact with the LR. Imagine having to remove, adjust or tighten that nut only to have it stuck to the LR. Even LR that has dried will grab that nut when you tighten it down and put pressure on it.

Good luck on your test fill, and I will be waiting anxiously to hear the results of the other brand of liquid rubber, black jack was it? Cheaper, and if it works could be huge for DIY'ers

thanks ross i tried not to get any on the back side but i have extra big rubber gaskets ill put on the outside plus the one's that come with the bulkheads to go on the inside so the nut won't actually touch the wood. thanks rider im excited too ill let everyone know what happens tomorro. and apriliarider is the one that will test the black jack stuff for us. he offer a new pond anyways lol :)

that's probably what i will have to do if the rubber gasket doesn't work. i won't be finishing the plumbing for a while however. im filling the tank up tomorro but it won't be 46 the house till almost september i have a 2 week archery hunt in august and my wife would freak if it happened to spring a leak while i was gone

i know im trying not to get my hopes up.. im ordering my pumps this week and until they get here the tank will stay filled in the garage and ill keep watching for wet spots on the wood or cement... anyways heres the pix. they arent very good i was having a hard time showing the water since it was so bright outside

i need help figuring out how much i will need to re-enforce my floor IF i even need to. from what i get out of it is my stand sits 90"x32" roughly 18.75 square feet.. my tank has about 2400 pounds of water in it plus about 100lbs for the tank and 100for the stand. unless im leaving something out then its about 140 pounds per square foot. doesnt seem like much? i was thinking about getting 4x4's and joist brackets and just connecting the joists together about 4 to 6 foot out from the wall? the tank sits over a crawl space so if i was really worried i could run posts going to the dirt floor but i dont think its needed

still no leaks that i can notice... nobody wants to chip in on the floor? did i atleast do the math right. ross did you build your floor up at all? our tanks are pretty much the same size... also got my pump and heaters ordered ill be running about 3200 gallons an hour. i just put in a pretty good sized order on rare central americans and can't wait to get them in the tank!!
