Finally got my enclosure ready and everything in line, so I'm planning on picking up my first snake tomorrow. I wanted to make sure my enclosure is okay, so I'll attach a picture. Going to be getting a standard CA King. I have a heat pad on the left side plugged into a timer. I've been wanting to get one for quite some time, so I'm really excited. Any general tips or anything I need to know about bringing it home in the car? I've read up quite a bit and have a little bit of experience with other people's snakes, but any input is appreciated.

well i've kept small snakes before but that was years ago, um when i took it home they gave it to me in a small box, but i couldnt wait so i took it out of the box and held it in my hands all the way home :) and yeah bro enclosure looks just fine, good luck and remember to always have the top on the enclosure or else your gf will find a snake on the couch and she'll make you get rid of it :(

thanks. I've never bought a snake, but I was assuming they'd give me some sort of plastic container like I got with my tarantula. I found the one I want the other day when I went for some aquarium stuff, but didn't ask them too much, so I'll make sure it's eating well and all that before I grab it. I feel like such a noob, but you gotta start somewhere, I guess. The lid has a slot it slides into on the back and the front has two built-in hold-downs, but I'm still going to do something else to make sure they don't get moved accidentally. And why in the world would I want a g/f that doesn't like snakes? haha Btw, bad pics, but that's aspen snake bedding.

not a neccesity, but maybe add some driftwood to give him more cover... and maybe a pothos

I have an 8 foot long red tail via had him for 4.5 years, I've found to keep heat and humidity your gonna want to build a plywood terrarium with a glass front and with this you can make a large tank for cheap,
