But why won't my ray take them?

Did you cut them up as described by other members in the thread? You are receiving some very good advice in this thread. Retics have small mouths and typically will not eat anything that isn't live food at first. The blackworms are small and move a lot. That entices the ray to want to eat.

As skinny as the ray is you have a very short amount of time to get it to accept food in it's new environment or it will die. I would also encourage you to remove the tank mates if you do not have sand for it to hide in, add some sand, get blackworms and turn off some of the lighting. Good luck.

Order blackworms, it's like crack to rays. Hard to get them off of them but man it can get a dying Ray to eat. After it fattens up a bit treat for parasites.

Because a nightcrawler is to big, probably even cut up from the looks of that ray.. GET BLACKWORMS. If you are in NYC I am sure one of the NYers can tell you where to get them immediately.

PM Mount Prion or Takenotes both keep rays and can tell you where is local to you.

+1 x10! I wean my pups off blackworms with chopped crawlers. If he is showing no interest then I would dose him with parasite meds but you need to get him eating first. Blackwormsdirect has a special for mfk members but you would need to set something up for keeping the extra worms alive.

It takes persistence to get a new ray to eat keep feeding but don't leave food lay too long just keep trying and keep the water super clean

+1 I've spent countless nights and 100's of different methods to get rays to.eat. Try red wigglers worms if you can find them
