That was a good thing to remind you of - Unplugging the heater (and filter) - Otherwise your heater is liable to break and in turn electrocute you, and your fish.

Leave the poor kid alone. Why is it when someone has a simple question, everyone needs to call him a moron? When you started, did everyone do this to you? Why dont you just answer his question instead of trying to driving him out of the hobby. This site is full of nice people with a lot of knowledge and should make newcomers feel welcome. The most knowledgable person in the hobby, at one point, had to ask someone how to do a water change. This person that you are flaming might someday know a heck of a lot more than you. Just remember that.

are u serious...how did u not ask how to do a water change before u got the tank..get a 5 gallon pale and a siphon and siphon the debri outta the gravel and into the bucket ( do about 3 buckets) then add tap water with a dechlorinator in it..like aqua plus
its not that hard to keep fish...
you should have
ammonia - o
nitrite - o
ph - dont mess with the ph at all, leave it at what the tapwater ph is
nitrate 5-20 ( once it gets around 20 do a w/c )
go buy yourself so prime or other type of dechlorinater ( spelling )
and add the reccomended dose when u do a w/c.
stop feeding your pbass so much.

yeah my cousin which is really big on fish recommended me to this site saying that these guyz are nice but i just dont know...i just want a simple q and a....not a q and flame and more flaming then a...but thanks anyways
