Fish Food Discussion Thread

I feed a mix of Hikari cichlid gold, biogold, and carnivore. And Tetra Krill which, speaking of smell, smells awesome. It smells so good I'm half-tempted to eat some whenever I feed.

For awhile I was buying f/d krill from yourfishstuff on ebay, but the last batch I got wasn't great and the fish didn't seem to want it. They really like the Tetra krill, if anybody knows of similar quality krill that's cheaper than Tetra please share.

Haven't tried NLS or Omega yet...
 
I just buy what foods my fish can eat LOL Todau I got some freeze-dried BW LOL
I wanna feed my fish beetroot...And garlic and Maltesers
 
When it comes to feeding fish i believe i if cant eat it my fish cant

i have kept mostly cichlids and discus so i normally keep some pellets ( cichlid gold) and Tetra colorbits on hand.

but i make all my own foods mostly frozen stuff.

my mixes contain these bases in different ratios for different fish

beef heart
shrimps or prawns
beets
carrots
spinich
pumpkin
spirulina
garlic
aga-aga a type of chinese seaweed gelatine

i vary the mixes based on who i am feeding i have even ate this myself one day i was
making a batch and forgot lunch so i took some added some salt anf pepper then fried it.

my fish love this crap and i have not had one reject this yet.

some other things i have added to this mix was for some pacus was corn and cucumbers
for the discus i have on hand i hatch some brine shrimp and toss them in to.

not really related specifically with previous posts, but I've been using Purina Aquamax Grower 400 for about a month and a half on my 125 gal cichlid tank and there has been some decent growth with some of the juvenile fish, and all the fish seem to like it. Not saying it is better than NLS but just a different food I've been using recently
 
food stickw work the best for it gave my cichla great colurs but now they wont eat anything else.

haha.i know bro!
my tems started eating hikari,and suddenly they wont eat anything else...
 
My Silver Dollars were raised from 2" on freeze dried blodworms, and TetraMin/Color tropical flakes. The past few days I have been putting HBH Color Bright in the tank once a night. My two Angels are indifferent with it, and will eat it only if they know they aren't getting anything else. My Silver Dollars love it.


Just thought i'd put that out there. ;)
