You want the food to be as close to its natural condition as possible,any extra salt probably does the fish more harm than good.

Ive used a few cans of ocean nutition marine formula and my fish loved it.

frozen
bloodworms
mysis shrimp

I also make my own food,variaton on the european shrimp mix with added veggies and color enhancers.

Im raising red wigglers and blackworms.
I hatch brine shrimp daily.

I stopped using hbh the kens flakes are cheaper and better.My fish refused to eat hbh african cichlid attack.
 
I feed my fish (blood Worms, flakes, pellets, mysis shrimp, and ghost shrimp)

:headbang2 I am on the right path then. I got my Tiger shovel nose and my butters catfish chomping it down now :)
 
I'm hoping to get my BGK on Sinking Carnivore... I'm getting a sample in the mail...

I'm almost certain my bichirs will like it.

I just placed an order with kensfish again. I got a few supplies along with a couple of food items I have wanted to try for my fish.


I ordered the Super Soft&Moist w/ Krill, and the Meat & Spirulina Wafers.


I'll let you know how it goes.
 
My bichirs love the wafers and pellets... I'm glad I got both.

These two will probably be their staple food, the Soft & Moist moreso...
